EETimes has an article about an interesting new file transfer technology. Instead of actually sending the data, you send an equation that tells the receiving computer how to create a copy of the data. It\’s faster than the usual FTP cause it eliminates most of the back and forth communication. The company developing this technology, Digital Fountain, had to create \”proprietary algorithms to create a mathematical model of the data being sent.\” Geez, I can\’t even imagine the kind of math involved.
