• Literally, a web log– tracking the overuse of the word “literally.” My favorite pet peeve. Literally gets thrown around literally way too much. Ok, Mark Twain, we get it, you’re not exaggerating.

  • Related to an earlier post: Saul Bass-style Tron posters. I like the Master Control Program one, very tiki.

  • Someone built an actual Turing Machine using a dry erase marker and 1000′ of film. Very cool. A Turing Machine is a theoretical device proposed by Alan Turing in 1936. Theoretically, with an infinite amount of memory (in this case the 1000′ of film), a Turing Machine could compute anything that is computable.

  • This is pretty cool. The Tron title sequence done in a 60s Saul Bass style. Love that music.

  • The Cabestan Nostromo is an insane watch inspired by the ship of the same name from Alien. It uses several drums on the face to display hours, minutes and seconds, and costs $141,000. It\’d be so cool if a little alien popped out on the hour like a cuckoo clock.

  • Now here\’s a good idea: street maps that are made to be crumpled up and stuffed in a pocket. The maps are printed on waterproof tyvek. Hopefully the wrinkles don\’t get in the way of legibility.
