An interplanetary Internet is in the works that will connect planets, satellites, asteroids, and spacecraft. They have to worry about such things as routes between planets changing due to the orbits of the planets. Sending data back and forth will be laggy too, cause even at the speed of light it takes 6 minutes to reach mars.
