German Church Hosts Cage Concert

A performance of an organ piece by American composer John Cage that is meant to last 639 years began in an eastern German church with 16 months of silence.

It\’s weird when you realize that people who hear the beginning will ever hear the ending, and the people who do hear the ending never heard the beginning. Well, unless they release a compressed version on CD or something. Only John Cage would write something like this. He\’s the guy who wrote the infamous 4\’33\”, which consists of 4 minutes and 33 seconds of complete silence.
