Ars Technica reviews the next generation of wireless technology. They got their hands on a sample cellular modem from Qualcomm, hooked it up to a laptop and played around with it. The results sound very promising. They got a connection rate of 2.2 megs per second, better than most wired LAN connections. The usual internet stuff like Realvideo and Quicktime videos, FTP transfers, and multiplayer gaming were as good as usual. Anyway, I think this is some pretty cool stuff to look forward to.
