When I went to UCI we had ethernet in the dorms. That was probably the coolest part about college (I\’m pathetic). Oddly enough, I never noticed any lag or connection problems as reported in this article. Occasionally the network would be down, but it was usually for just a few hours. And I knew people who were downloading gigs of mp3s, movies, warez, and porn, as well as running Quake servers. I think I moved out at the right time too, as my brother lived in the dorms last year and he said they put a cap on the connection speed. Heh heh.
