So graduation last Saturday went pretty well. It was held in our big basketball arena. My parents and brother and a bunch of relatives showed up. I felt like I was in a trance when I walked across the stage and shook the dean\’s hand. I couldn\’t believe I was actually graduating. Anyway, I\’ll spare you the actual details, as graduations are generally the same everywhere.
The announcer mispronounced my name again, just like at my high school graduation, but I wasn\’t expecting much from those people anyway. I would give the guy a little slack if I had one of those hardcore Chinese names like Xiu Xiaoping, but Evan\’s an American name. They gave us little cards that we phonetically wrote our names on, so I wrote \”Eh-vin.\” I thought it sounded about right, but I guess I was wrong.
