I finally ordered a digital camera, along with a battery charger for it. This is gonna be cool, I can\’t wait to carry it around with me and take pictures of everything. No more waiting for the film to be developed to see if a shot came out ok. No more deciding whether or not I should take a picture of something cause it might be a waste of film.
While I was shopping around for the camera, I realized the importance of good design. If a site was ugly, poorly designed, and just all-around amateurish, I was apprehensive about purchasing from that site. The site could have the lowest price around, but if the site itself looked cheap, I\’m buying somewhere else. This is especially important when shopping for expensive items. Buying a $400 camera from an amateurish site is like buying a stereo from the trunk of some dude\’s beat-up Camaro. I ended up buying from buy.com, whose site looks much more professional. I totally support the DIY ethic, but come on guys, try a little harder.
