• The trailer for Serenity is out and it looks badass. It looks just like the show but on a larger scale and with a bigger budget. I\’m actually more excited about this than Episode III.

  • I\’ve been looking for something like this: the thorough History of the Batmobile covers all the Batmobiles from the comics, movies, tv shows, cartoons, and even alternate timelines.

  • DP Review has a preview of the Nikon D50, the new entry-level DSLR. It has the same 6 megapixel sensor as the D70, so picture quality-wise it should be same; it\’s just cheaper and easier to use. They also have news about the D70s. But the best news is that the D70 is firmware-upgradeable to have some of the same features as the D70s. Good thing cause I just got mine.

  • Trent Reznor released a song from the upcoming NIN album as a big GarageBand file that you can download and play around with. That\’s so cool. It\’s like getting the source code of a computer game. I wish I had a Mac now.

What I\’m giving you in this file is the actual multi-track audio session for \”the hand that feeds\” in GarageBand format. This is the entire thing bounced over from the actual Pro Tools session we recorded it into. I imported and converted the tracks into AppleLoop format so the size would be reasonable and the tempo flexible.

  • The explicit content only version of Straight Outta Compton is like the opposite of what they\’d sell at Walmart.

  • I made a little time lapse video of the view out my office window at my old job. If only the work day could really go by this fast…
    · Low quality (4.6 mb avi)
    · High quality (10.6 mb avi)

  • Now this is cool. A company called Numark was showing off a prototype iPod mixer at a show in Frankfurt. It looks like the iPod\’s controls, including the scroll wheel, are replicated on the machine in a bigger scale.

  • The LA Times recently had an article about the John Lautner-designed Chemosphere, the Modernist house that looks like a UFO and has been in a ton of movies. I never knew that it\’s in the valley; for some reason I thought it was in the Hollywood Hills or something.

  • The Half-Life 2 expansion pack should be coming out this summer. Valve is actually making it themselves this time, unlike with the original Half-Life expansion pack which was made by Gearbox Software (although they did an excellent job). This one takes place right after the end of Half-Life 2, and Alyx has a bigger part in the story too.

  • I\’m obsessed with this video of Japanese rockabilly dudes dancing in a park. It\’s so weird! Is that how greasers dance? Somehow I don\’t think the Fonz would be caught dead doing this.
