The new iPod photo was released yesterday. It can display photos on its color screen now, plus it can show album art when you\’re playing music. It\’s lame that you can\’t use it like an image tank for your digital camera though. You still need to use a computer to upload photos into it. So basically it\’s just a way to share photos? Do people really want to walk around with their entire 25,000 photo collection? These are the same people who keep pictures in their wallets of their loser kids and show them to people.

Castro Says He\’s Working Despite Injuries
Exclusive APTN footage of Castro\’s fall on Wednesday showed the Cuban leader tripped after descending the stairs from the stage after his speech and fell forward, hard on his right side.
Have a nice trip? See you next fall.

Wal-Mart is throwing its weight around and forcing the record labels to lower the prices on the CDs that Wal-Mart buys. The record labels can\’t afford to refuse because 20% of their sales are from Wal-Mart. And if they do refuse and Wal-Mart drops their CDs, it\’s no big deal to Wal-Mart cause CDs are only 2% of their sales. I\’m not sure who to side with here. On one hand, the major record labels suck and I like to see them getting screwed over. On the other hand, Wal-Mart sucks too cause they sell censored, mainstream, lowest common denominator music. I\’ll keep on buying my music from local stores, Amoeba, and online.

Wow, the OQO isn\’t vaporware after all. PCWorld has a first look at an actual production OQO. It\’s a little underwhelming though. 256 MB RAM, 20 GB hard drive, and a 1 GHz Crusoe processor for $1999? I\’ll wait for the next generation.

Some dude built a modern PC into an old Mac SE/30. I like that it still looks like the original Mac. It has a black and white 9\” screen and runs an open-source Mac OS 7.5 emulator which is actually 15 times faster than the real thing. So from the outside it looks and works exactly like the original.

The deluxe edition of Nine Inch Nails\’ The Downward Spiral is coming out November 23. This is remastered in 5.1 surround sound and comes on SACD as well as DVD-Audio. There\’s also a second disc with b-sides, demos, and remixes. Damn, I need to put together a killer stereo system now.
