I got this badass external hard drive enclosure the other day. It\’s so cool. The top and bottom panels are sheet metal and the sides are mesh for ventilation. It uses USB 2.0, so it\’s not as fast as IDE but it\’s good enough. Plus it says Speed Metal on it, how cool is that? I think it might be a case of Engrish, but in a good way. Anyway, I now have 160 GB to fill with Slayer and Megadeth mp3s.

I guess the Chinese Communist Party thinks Chairman Mao is too stodgy, as they\’re going to remake him as a hip hop artist in an attempt to appeal to young people. One of Mao\’s speechs will be set to music and released as an album to celebrate his 110th birthday. Weird.
Which reminds me, I picked up this nifty Mao watch when I was in China this summer. Now it can be Mao time, all the time! When I wear this watch, it\’s always Mao O\’Clock!

This guy has some great stories from working at Barnes & Noble.
One fine afternoon an elderly couple approached the register and communicated the fact that there were several special orders being held for them. Upon investigating, I found a stack of Dungeons and Dragons reference manuals under their name. The (60+ year old) man expressed great joy at finally acquiring the \”Advanced dungeons and Dragons Thief\’s Handbook\”

Leica unveiled the new Digilux 2 5 megapixel digital camera yesterday. Leica calls it an \”analog digital camera\”, meaning controls such as focus and aperture can be set using rings on the lens, like on a traditional camera. It has a 3.2x zoom lens which isn\’t interchangeable, unfortunately. It has a cool retro design similar to their classic M6 rangefinder cameras.

This is a cool age progession of what Michael Jackson would\’ve looked like if he hadn\’t had plastic surgery.
