• I love hearing about stuff like this: Police: Teen burns friend making own \’Jackass\’

A 13-year-old boy who wanted to make his own version of \”Jackass: The Movie\” threw a cup of boiling water on his best friend as he slept, causing second-degree burns, police said.

  • Pixar\’s new film Finding Nemo is coming out this week and it\’s sure to be filled with in-jokes. For example, the pizza delivery truck in Toy Story has been in all of their other movies so far. There\’s also a semi-preview of future Pixar movies, as characters from 2 upcoming films appear in Finding Nemo.

I always thought the outtakes at the end of their movies were kind of dumb. I mean, they\’re funny and all, but they\’re scripted! They even did extra animation for them! Outtakes are supposed to be spontaneous mess-ups by the actors. To me that makes them all the more funnier.

  • DVD File reviews the Animatrix DVD. Sounds pretty cool.

  • Office Hour Habits of the North American Professor, including my favorites, the Early Bird and the Door Closer. In 4 years of college I think I only went to office hours twice. Hmmm…now that I think about, I should\’ve gone to office hours for that cute TA for astronomy. Heh heh heh.

  • Fun with forklifts. Heh heh heh. Sucks to be the guy standing in the bottom left.

This site has a bunch of cool pictures, like this hazmat one.

  • Pana Wave Laboratory is a weird Japanese doomsday cult that wraps things in white sheets to protect against electromagnetic waves. They believe these waves are causing their leader to be gravely ill. They also predicted the world would\’ve ended on May 15th. Doh!

Cool name for a cult though.

  • Great Wired article about the technology used in the Iraq war. Some vehicles are equipped with laptops connected to a network, which soldiers can use to track troop movements throughout the region. They can also access information such as battle plans, maps, and photos. I find it interesting that they used Microsoft Chat to communicate.

\”What\’s funny about using Microsoft Chat,\” he adds with a sly smile, \”is that everybody has to choose an icon to represent themselves. Some of these guys haven\’t bothered, so the program assigns them one. We\’ll be in the middle of a battle and a bunch of field artillery colonels will come online in the form of these big-breasted blondes. We\’ve got a few space aliens, too.\”

  • Jugs of Pee found alongside highways are turning into a national epidemic (ewwwww). Traditionally it was long haul truckers doing this, but it\’s crossed over to the general population due to the rise in bottles found by roadside crews.

The bottles are predominantly plastic beverage containers from convenience stores — milk, juice, etc. Capped and thrown from a moving vehicle, some retain their seal. In the summer heat, urine bottles build up pressure and when nudged by a clean-up crew may explode, or be spun into the air by lawnmower blades.

Even worse is the bags of feces being found at a 20:1 ratio. Gross. People! Just pull over and do your business, jeez.
