Interesting. According to a Wall Street Journal article, when a Starbucks opens near an independent coffeehouse business actually thrives for both stores. One reason is that indie coffeehouse owners start to improve their shops when they hear a Starbucks is opening nearby, roasting their own beans and improving customer service and such. Coffeehouses are also unique in retailing cause they don\’t favor chains. So now you don\’t have to feel bad about patronizing Starbucks.

This is a neat little case mod: a 7 inch LCD built into the front of a Shuttle computer case. It looks really sharp. My computer\’s getting a little old now so I need a new one soon. Maybe I\’ll do something like this.

Teen Suffers Burns After Setting Own Shorts On Fire

…the boys took turns smearing their shorts with gasoline Saturday night. They would then take turns lighting each other\’s pants on fire, and the teen whose pants were set on fire would drop to the ground and roll in an attempt to put the fire out.

After three rounds, police said, \”the shorts were drenched in so much gasoline that they were unable to extinguish it anymore.\”

Ha ha ha, that\’s so stupid. I give it 3 days until we see copycat incidents across the U.S.

Jesus christ. I\’m not a health nut but a deep-fried Twinkie sounds like a heart attack waiting to happen. The inventor owns a restaurant that also sells deep-fried candy bars.
