• An interesting study concluded that women and minorities get better car deals online. The internet acts as an equalizer to eliminate the differences between car shoppers. Useful info if you\’re looking for a new car.

  • I bought a couple neckties over the weekend (one is from the Jerry Garcia line!) and when I got home I realized I don\’t know how to tie a tie. Fortunately I found this page before I got desperate. Bonus: they have fancy names like \”Windsor\” and \”Four-In-Hand.\”

  • How cute, a pink Hello Kitty laptop. It even has fur and little stickers all over it.

  • LucasFilm is auctioning off a ton of stuff for eBay\’s Auction for America, including Darth Maul\’s lightsaber, a Stormtrooper helmet, and a Darth Vader helmet autographed by George Lucas himself. If I had some money I\’d get the Millennium Falcon model made by modelmakers at ILM.

  • You just know some putz is gonna do this to a Segway once they\’re available.

  • Some exciting math news: The world\’s largest prime number was recently discovered. It contains 4,053,946 digits and is actually a Mersenne prime, which is of the form 2p-1. This particular prime is written as 213,466,917-1. Uh…I don\’t know how this information is useful for us lay people, but at least you can quote it to your friends in homeroom and sound cool.

  • This guy went war driving from Pasadena, CA to San Francisco, mapping wireless access points along the route. All he used was a laptop with a 802.11b card and a GPS unit and he found a lot of access points in rural areas. I gotta get a laptop one of these days and try to find some free wireless internet access.

Inventor Unveils Machine That\’s Not A Goddamn Scooter, Ok?

Sawyer: Well, we\’re out here on the street with Dean Kamen, who invented this revolutionary new scooter. Mr. Kamen, this looks like great fun. What\’s this scooter called?

    Kamen: It\’s not a scooter.

Amazing New \”Segway Human Transporter\” Apparently Not Tested For Acronym

\”I can\’t believe this Segway Human Transporter!\” said ABC\’s Diane Sawyer. \”It\’s so fun and stable and quiet! Wow. Segway Human Transporter.\”

    (Just think about it)

  • So IT was finally revealed to be a motorized scooter that uses gyroscopes to \”know\” where the user wants to go. After all that hype it\’s a little underwhelming, but it\’s still very cool. Maybe if it shot lasers out of the handlebars or something…Anyway, I can\’t wait till the postal service starts using them so I can play with my mailman\’s.

  • I\’ve been playing a neat little Flash game called Reflections a lot lately. You use mirrors and refractors to bend a laser beam in order to light up lightbulbs scattered throughout the level. Some of the levels are really tough.
