Remember that Hooters waitress who thought she won a Toyota, but instead got a toy Yoda? The judge for her lawsuit ruled against a motion to dismiss the suit. Don\’t these people have better things to do with their time?

Some people take role playing games way too seriously: His Death a Fantasy, Says Game Player
David Dunn of Cleveland has become such a powerful warrior in the Internet fantasy game DragonRealms that others would pay thousands of dollars to assume his character, Bloodwrath.
But shortly after the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, a real-world impostor tried to kill him off and steal his online identity.
Administrators at Simutronics Corp., which created DragonRealms, received an e-mail Sept. 18 from someone claiming to be Dunn\’s wife, Adine.
The writer said Dunn and his father had died in the attack on the World Trade Center and asked that Bloodwrath be turned over to another player in the game.
That\’s really fucked up. The imposter must have some serious mental problems.

I really like the design of the Playstation gamepad and now I can use it with my computer. This little modification probably isn\’t for everyone though, as you need to cut wires and solder stuff together.

So I went down to Irvine for the job fair today. It was rather depressing. Most places weren\’t hiring any people until next spring and I can\’t wait around for 6 months. I think my best bet is to go for a government job, like with LA county.
I also ran into a lot of friends who are all looking for jobs. Even people who graduated a year or two ago were job hunting. Stupid economy.

MIT is putting their course materials on the web for anyone to download for free. Now we get to see what these people are paying $27,000 a year for. You can\’t get course credit or a degree using these materials, but hey, it\’s the knowledge that\’s important, right?
On a side note, for an Institute of Technology their website seems rather plain.

Jesus, they really know how to punish criminals in Pakistan.

A professor at the University of Cincinnati is studying why we get songs stuck in our heads. I\’m interesting in knowing how many times a song got stuck in the professor\’s head while he was conducting the study. Heh heh, he was asking for it. Personally, I\’ve had a lot of old 80s metal stuck in my head lately. Ugh.
