Police Find 500 Skeletons in House
Which reminds me, when\’s Rob Zombie\’s House of 1000 Corpses coming out?

The Pentagon has plans for a spacecraft which could bomb targets from outer space. It would drop bombs from 60 miles up and travel halfway around the world in 90 minutes. From that height the bombs wouldn\’t even need warheads.
My favorite quote from the article says the bomber \”…could drop precision bombs from heights of 60 miles or more.\” Now, it\’s well known that smart bombs dropped from B-2 bombers in Desert Storm and Kosovo missed their targets. If the military can\’t hit a target from 7 miles up, there\’s no way they can hit something from 60.
Not only that, but the bomber would use technology from NASA\’s X-33 reusable spacecraft program, which was cancelled because of technical problems. So all of a sudden the Pentagon can get it to work?
Another great idea from the Bush administration.

For those of you Macintosh users, Apple has a new keyboard out. Very stylish.

It\’s about time someone created portable cell phone jammers. I should hide a couple of these in some lecture halls on campus.

My days are dull and monotonous. School in the morning, work in the afternoon, sleep. Just like that. School, work, sleep. 1,2,3. 1,2,3. Lather, rinse, repeat. And the next thing I know a week has gone by, then another, and suddenly it\’s August. Geez, what have I been doing? Summer\’s half over and I have to find a full time job soon.

\”A Florida woman who thought she\’d won a new car is suing a Hooter\’s restaurant, after her prize turned out to be a Star Wars toy.\”
See, she won a toy Yoda, instead of a Toyota. And now she\’s suing. Geez, lady, lighten up.

Irving came to visit today, and my old roommate Khanh is back in Irvine for summer school, so we saw Made at the University Center. The movie was good. It was funny and entertaining and the performances by Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn were great. Hell, even Puff Daddy – I mean, P. Diddy did a competent job. Made is darker than Swingers though, but it\’s just as funny. So far it\’s the only good movie I\’ve seen this summer. There was actually a sizable crowd for a Thursday night showing of an indie movie.

Taming the Wild, Wild Web
Awwww, how sad, the corporations are having a hard time making money off the internet. Boo hoo hoo. Because of the decentralized nature of the net, corporations can\’t exploit it as easily as they exploit everything else in the world. As a result, they\’re demanding changes to the structure of the net.\”The Internet is an important cultural phenomenon, but that doesn\’t excuse its failure to comply with basic economic laws,\” said Thomas Nolle, a New Jersey telecommunications consultant. \”The problem is that it was devised by a bunch of hippie anarchists who didn\’t have a strong profit motive. But this is a business, not a government-sponsored network.\”
I hope corporations never make a profit off the net. I hope they give up and leave it alone. The internet is for sharing information and empowering the individual with a voice that can be heard. It\’s not for making a profit and restricting and censoring information.

Damnit, Made opened 2 weeks ago and I didn\’t know about it. That\’s the problem with indie movies, they don\’t have much promotion. Anyway, I\’m gonna try to round up some people to see it with me. Hopefully, it won\’t suck like most of the movies this summer. I want to see Ghost World and Hedwig and the Angry Inch too, which also seem like pretty cool movies.

Thieves Try to Steal Entire Garage
\”Thieves in Detroit jacked up a garage from its foundations and tried to drive it away in daylight on their truck.\”
My favorite part is this quote:
\”It is thought the thieves tried to steal the garage because it was made from aluminium.\”
Oh, well, obviously. I mean, duh. Who doesn\’t want to steal an aluminum garage?
