• Went out for dinner with Kon, Noel, De, and Irving. It was the last time we\’d ever eat together, so we were kind of in a melancholy mood. Afterwards we wandered around K-Mart cause Noel wanted to return something. Heh heh, we\’re so lame.

I packed the last of my things when we got back to the apartment. Started throwing away trash and cleaning. I want to do as few things as necessary tomorrow morning before the commencement. I\’m so excited. I\’m actually graduating college. For the first time in my life I feel like I\’ve really accomplished something. Well, ok, I still need to take 2 courses during summer school before I really finish college, but still.

So now I\’m entering the real world. No more going to classes, doing homework, watching TV all night, playing computer games, or working an easy part time job. No more fucking around. Now I have to start paying bills, start a career, meet a girl and start a family. I\’m really scared cause I have no idea where to start. I don\’t have a real job waiting for me after graduation(stupid economy) and I still don\’t have a girlfriend. And I have no idea what I\’ll be doing a year from now. I\’m tempted to go to grad school just so I can put this off for another few years.

I suppose I should start by looking for a full time job during the summer. I want to work up north somewhere, maybe Seattle or San Francisco, or maybe even New York. I should move even if I don\’t find a job. I have a feeling that if I don\’t move now, I\’ll never get out of Irvine. Not that Irvine\’s a bad place to live; it has its little charms and special places. I just need to see more of the world before I get too old and entrenched in routines.

The commencement ceremony starts in about 10 hours. I should unplug my computer and move it out to my car soon.

  • Confessions of a Car Salesman is a great article about the tactics salesmen use to sell cars. A writer was sent undercover at 2 dealerships and he wrote about his experiences. I might be getting a new car soon so this article was especially helpful.

  • Monty Python and the Holy Grail will be showing in a few movie theaters with 24 seconds of new footage! It\’s playing in LA tonight but I probably can\’t make it. Oh well. The article says it\’s going to be released on DVD this fall, so I\’ll wait for that.

  • This homemade mech is very impressive. Look how big it is compared to the people standing next to it!

  • The first Simpsons DVD set will be released September 25th. It includes all 13 episodes from the first season and a ton of extra material. Best of all, it\’s priced at $39.98. Hopefully the other seasons will be affordable too, unlike the $149 X-Files sets.

  • I had a ratty old pair of Allstars that I wanted to get rid of, so of couse I had to tie the laces together and throw them over a power line. Irvine doesn\’t have power lines though, so we threw them over a streetlight instead. It took us a few tries, but we finally got them stuck on a screw or something that was sticking out. Irvine\’s officially a ghetto now.

  • Yesterday I took a lot of my stuff home to Pasadena. Unloaded everything, emptied some boxes so I could use them again, and then came back to Irvine. The rest of my stuff I\’ll put in one of the storage rooms around here(cause I\’m coming back in a week for summer school), or take back with me tomorrow. So moving out\’s not as bad as I thought it would be.

I never thought I\’d see the day when \”Doh\” is an official word.

  • Nation In Love With Girl From Record Store
Heh, it\’s funny cause it\’s true. Why do all the cute, cool girls work in record stores?

  • I\’m about to go see Evolution with my posse. It\’s so relaxing being finished with finals.
