• All of the archives are back on line now.

  • When I was into the zine scene, my favorite zine was Science Geek. It was written by Doug Larkin, a high school science teacher/peace corps volunteer in Kenya. It had great articles about science, music, and life in Kenya. It also had great illustrations and comics by Steve Spatucci. I haven\’t heard anything about Science Geek for a few years now. I didn\’t know if they\’re still putting out issues, or if they stopped making it completely. Anyway, today I came across Steve Spatucci\’s website, Plasmic Studio. There\’s lots of examples of his art, and there\’s also some illustrations from various issues of Science Geek.

  • David Carson is giving a speech about \”Grafik Design After the End of Print\” here at UCI on Wednesday night. He\’s the guy who designed the album art for Nine Inch Nails\’ The Fragile. He also has 2 books, The End of Print and Fotografiks. Finally we get somebody cool speaking here.

  • Yep, another school shooting. They\’re a tired cliché now. People! It\’s time for church shootings!

  • Ugh, I just got back from the computer lab, where I\’ve been since 1 pm. I can\’t believe I wasted a whole Saturday. Man, someone\’s gonna pay.

  • I\’ve been looking at this site all night. Strangely, I\’m fascinated by the pictures of grotesquely hideous 70s interior decoration. My god, how could people live like that? Worse yet, my grandparents had 70s furniture and decor as recently as 1990. Luckily they came to their senses.

  • Looks like Napster is going to block copyrighted songs, which means it\’s shutting down now. It won\’t take effect until tomorrow afternoon though, so stay up all night and get everything you can while you still can.

  • The TA for my physics class (the cute one) was working on a PowerBook G4 today. Oh man, it looked so damn cool. Thin and sleek and titanium, baby. Nothing\’s as sexy as a cute girl with a badass laptop.

  • My partner for my computer networks class finished the entire project by himself tonight. Cause it\’s a 2 part project, right? A client and a server for an ftp program. First he wrote the client by himself, so I was going to do the server. Then tonight he emails me and says he finished the server too. Now I feel bad cause I didn\’t do anything. I even read up on socket programming and figured it out.
