• Everything you ever wanted to know about Chuck Taylor and Converse shoes. Box designs through the years, movie and TV appeareances, and a technology overview among other things. Those knee-high Chucks look pretty nasty.

  • Uh oh, I might have some trouble with my schedule this quarter. One of my classes was moved to an earlier time, so now it conflicts with another class. So I was planning to drop the other class and add another one. Everything cool, right? Wrong. The new class I wanted was cancelled cause, somehow, ICS fucked up and couldn\’t find someone to teach it. Aaarrgghhh. I\’m so glad I\’m graduating soon.

  • Yay, I\’m back in Irvine. Man, I missed this high-speed internet connection. Hmmm…somewhat surprisingly, I didn\’t get much mail. Not even junk mail. No one loves me.

  • Hironobu Sakaguchi and Jun Aida, the director and producer (respectively) of the Final Fantasy movie were interviewed recently. They discuss digital actors, digital filmmaking, and how the game relates to the Final Fantasy universe, among other things. My favorite quote:

Press: When this movie comes out on DVD, have you thought about including additional features in the DVD?

Aida: Good question. (Laughs) We\’ve been asked that question before, and with the PS2 being DVD compatible, we are working on a very interactive product. Namely, you will be able to render certain sequences of the movie in real time, and be your own director, and change camera angles and shots. That\’s the enhanced interactive capability that our research and development team is producing currently. Hopefully, that will go on the PS2 version of the DVD.

    That is so damn cool.

  • The Curse of the \”Devil\” Monkey. Some good ideas here for smuggling drugs. Of course, I prefer the old school method of hiding things in your rectum.

  • Daily Radar made a bunch of predictions for 2001 in categories such as PC and Playstation games, and movies. They also made predictions for the worst of the year. My personal favorites:

Environmentally Friendly Chicks Still Won\’t Shave Their Legs
    Men\’s Sandals
Ugly Death of the DJ Scene

  • Damnit, I lost a hubcap today. I got out of the car, glance at the front wheel and, christ, the hubcap\’s missing. My car looks like a freaking police car. Now I have to take off the hubcap on the other side so it\’ll match. \”Yes, I always drive with only 2 hubcaps. It makes my car go faster.\”

  • This little LCD monitor is perfect for impressing the ladies (or guys, your choice). It fits in a drive bay and slides out and flips up for use. The site\’s in Japanese though, so I don\’t know what it says.

  • Even Microsoft says Windows 98 sucks.

Windows 2000 Professional is the most reliable Windows ever. It is up to 30 percent faster and, according to NSTL tests, 13 times more reliable than Windows 98.

  • DVD Talk has a good interview with David Fincher, director of Fight Club and Se7en. He seems like a pretty cool dude.
