• Went home for the weekend and celebrated Chinese New Year\’s with my parents. I can\’t remember the exact date, but I know it\’s not till later this week. But me, my brother, and all my cousins are at college and can\’t come back in the middle of the week, so we celebrated Saturday night instead.

Then today I came back around 4:30. Then I went with Irving and Kon to see Snatch at Park Place. I thought it was a very cool movie. Very funny and entertaining, even though the first 20 minutes or so was boring. I wouldn\’t say it\’s better than Lock, Stock, and 2 Smoking Barrels though. It\’s about as good as Lock, Stock was.

  • Here\’s a good article about shell replacements for Windows. I\’ve been using Litestep for about 2 years and I can\’t stand using the Windows shell for more than 5 minutes. Litestep is highly customizable. I\’ve been working on my own theme on and off and it\’s coming along nicely.

  • Ha ha ha! Hulk Hogan joining Metallica? Metallica\’s finally lost that one tiny, minute, infinitesimal molecule of respect they had left.

  • It\’s amazing what can be done with ASCII text. Take, for example, Star Wars. They only have half the movie, but it\’s still very impressive.

  • Constipated Jewel Thief Gives Up Loot. I don\’t think I need to make any witty comments here.

  • Now you too can sound like a mobster by using mafia terms in your everyday speech.

  • I think I\’m getting sick. I had a sore throat all day and now I have a slight headache. I even skipped work. Well, I skip work when I\’m not sick too, but anyway. This sucks ass.

  • Possibly the coolest school-related news I\’ve ever posted, for my project class my group will do a distributed network of Linux machines. This is similar to the Beowulf project at NASA. It\’s essentially a whole bunch of computers working together, and the workload is distributed among the computers, so you get a fast and cheap supercomputer. The problem is, we have absolutely no idea where to start. I know a little Linux, but I don\’t think any of the other members have experience with it. It\’ll still be a lot of fun though.

  • Chinese people are very superstitious, especially with regards to numbers. 8 is a really lucky number. Once I saw a Mercedes in Chinatown with a license plate \”88668t8\”. That dude\’s hardcore. Anyway, cell phone numbers with lots of 8s and other lucky numbers sell for thousands of dollars in China. Personally, I\’d kill to get a number that began with 666.

  • Last year I explored the steam tunnels under campus with some friends from the dorm. It was lots of fun, and I\’d definitely go again if I could get enough people to come along. Salon wrote about infiltration, or going places you\’re not supposed to go. Some people actually go into abandoned lunatic asylums, which is a bit too much for me.
