If there were any billboards around here, and if I had friends cool enough, this is the kind of stuff I\’d do. I especially like the Amelia Earhart and Exxon liberations.

Opera 5 is available and it\’s free now. Well, you get banner ads, but it\’s still free. Wasn\’t 4.02 just released a few months ago?

Aw great, just what we need: Cell phone guns. As if cell phones weren\’t annoying enough, now we have to worry about getting shot with one.

My final today was ok, I think. It was 4 problems, and 2 of them I had no idea, and the other 2 involved writing out a program. And if you\’ve ever written a program from scratch by hand, with a time limit, you know how difficult it is.
Anyway, my Beastie Boys dvd came in the mail today. There\’s so much cool stuff on the discs. It\’ll take me a few days just to go through everything. Just as an example, Intergalactic has 9 video angles and 6 audio tracks, as well as commentaries and story boards. The menus and the booklet are very well designed too, you can tell they put a lot of effort into this. I wish more bands would do stuff like this.
By the way, why the fuck are there 2 prices for it on Amazon? There\’s this one and there\’s this one. Hey, if you\’re planning to buy it here\’s a tip: Get the cheaper one.

I ordered a Plextor 8/4/32 CD burner on Thursday and it arrived today. Great. Right at the beginning of finals week. I have enough distractions already, now I have the option to install a burner and burn stuff. I think I\’m gonna get these cool black CDs and make some mix CDs.

William S. Burroughs was a Beat writer who used the \”cut-up\” technique, where he cut up what he wrote, mixed the pieces around and randomly reassembled them to get a new story. Well this is 2000 and we can use computer programs to do that. Cut n\’ Mix cuts up and reassembles up to 4 text files. I put together the previous post and a few lines from the Fight Club screenplay, and this is what I got:

After the science library closed we were kicked out, so we decided to go to Krispy Kreme. Oh man, the fog was just wicked. Right when we got on the freeway we drove into fog and couldn\’t see more than 10 feet ahead. It was such a weird feeling. Everything was just gray on all sides. I wish I had my digital camera with me. I don\’t remember the fog being this bad the last 3 years I\’ve been in Irvine. So anyway, that\’s my little adventure for the night.

New stop signs were installed a block down the street, and I guess the city really wants people to stop cause on each side there\’s 5 temporary signs and a blinking light. I\’m serious, it looks like a military checkpoint or something. I almost expect to see soldiers with machine guns asking for my papers.

I\’ve been working on my compiler all day and I finally got it working! I feel so good right now. Now I have time to study.

Whoa, I\’m actually up early on a Saturday. Time for some coffee.
