This 24\” widescreen monitor is going on my wishlist. It weighs 100 pounds though, I don\’t know if my table can even support it.

It\’s Halloween and I\’m studying for a midterm. How lame. I should be out terrorizing the yuppies in Newport Beach and passing out razor blade candy apples to all the kids. I guess I\’ll have to postpone all that to tomorrow night.

I\’ve been a fan of Neal Stephenson ever since I read the incredible Snow Crash a few years ago. I\’ve been looking for his first novel, The Big U, for a while now. It\’s out of print and auctions on eBay go for $200-$500. Stephenson\’s said it\’s not his best work and it won\’t be reprinted (although, I guess they are reprinting it afterall).
Well, I\’ve finally found an electronic version of The Big U online. There\’s pdf, LaTex, postscript, and plaintext versions. I know this is illegal, but I can\’t afford to spend a couple hundred bucks on a paperback book.

Ha ha! Ok, I know how I\’m going to carve my pumpkin now.

My homework turned out to be easier than I thought. I love it when that happens. Now I\’m feeling good and the rest of my night is free. I\’m thinking about going to Alejandro\’s for some Mexican food.

Whoa, I\’m blogging from a Unix machine. I\’m so hardcore.
-
Geez, slow day. I haven\’t seen anything worth posting all day long. I need to go to the computer lab later to use the Unix computers, and I also forgot my password so I can\’t use the Unix machines through telnet. Looks like a boring night too.

Here\’s one guy\’s account of working for Amazon.com in one of their big warehouses.

I think a neat trick would be to open a seafood restaurant called \”Tastes Like Chicken.\” That would fool a lot of people.

The new Vespa scooters look so damn cool. I wouldn\’t mind crusing around campus on a Vespa, with a cute girl on the backseat with her arm around my waist. The 50cc version doesn\’t require a motorcycle license in most states and only costs $2900. I would much rather have a Vespa than those dinky little Razor scooters everyone\’s riding.
I guess there\’s a retro-cool factor associated with them, as I\’ve heard vintage Vespas are very popular. My dad said he had one when he was in college, so he\’s cooler than I thought.
