• This video is so cool. It\’s an interactive version of Michael Naimark\’s art installation. Four synchronized vistas of Timbuktu, Angkor, Jerusalem, and Dubrovnik can be collaged together so that they overlap, and the audience can see what\’s going on in all four cities at the same time of day. I think this is only a video of a demonstration though. I want to see the actual installation in person.

  • I love the icons this dude makes. Whenever I try to make my own icons they always look like shit.

  • Giant Robot has an excellent article about nerds, a subject I know all too much about.

  • When I was a kid, I wanted to do the kind of stuff Survival Research Laboratories does. They build machines such as the Air Launcher, which launches explosive rounds at 500 mph, and the Flame Whistle, the loudest flamethrower in the world made out of a Boeing jet engine. Once in a while SRL puts on big outdoor shows where the machines pretty much destroy each other. Those pansy Robot Wars have nothing against SRL.

  • Red Baron Pizza\’s really starting to piss me off. The crust is too thick so the middle part doesn\’t cook when you microwave it. Then if you microwave it longer to compensate, the outside crust becomes hard as a rock. And I still don\’t see the connection between a World War I flying ace and pizza. I\’m hungry now.

  • Well, I guess every company has one now, but does 7-Eleven really need a website too? It\’s a pretty nice looking site though. They should have free email addresses while they\’re at it. Then I could be-

    wait for it…

    wait for it…

    evan@7-eleven.com!

Can you believe I didn\’t plan that out either?

  • Kmart has a new shoplifter returns policy, allowing stolen items to be returned for a full refund or exchange. Tee hee hee.

\”Last week I pocketed a couple of vid[eo]s from Kmart for my kids, OK?\” said Eric Littleton, standing outside a Kmart in Akron, Ohio. \”One of the tapes was all, like, weird lines, and my kids were friggin\’ screaming, \’Take it back!\’ Without the returns policy, I gotta steal again, but now, I\’m golden. I am definitely patronizing Kmart in the future.\”

  • Tapster is similar to Napster except it\’s for Spinal Tap songs. I guess it would\’ve happened sooner or later.

  • Yet another \”Wassup\” parody, but this one\’s fairly decent actually. It\’s done with characters from Half-Life.

  • Ah great, I have to get up in front of class and do a presentation in about 10 hours. You would think this stuff gets easier, but nope. And what\’s worse is that it\’s the class with the cute girl that I still haven\’t worked up the nerve to talk to. But I\’m gonna impress her with my magnificent oratory skills, and she\’ll fall madly in love with me and we\’ll live happily ever after.
